Barton Hill Primary School is seeking to appoint a motivated, caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support learning both in and beyond the classroom, providing targeted academic, social and emotional support to individual pupils and small groups. You will play a key role in helping children overcome barriers to learning, fostering positive behaviour, and contributing to a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

Key responsibilities: 

Support students’ learning in the classroom under the direction of teaching staff

Assist with behaviour management and promote positive engagement

Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups

Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff

Support students’ academic, social and emotional development

Pay range: NJC 5 - 7 - £19,764.26 - £20,397.76 (FTE: £25,583.00 - £26,403.00)

32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Fixed Term until 31/08/2027

Qualifications and Skills:

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)

Relevant TA, childcare or education qualification (desirable)

Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students

Confidence supporting learning in and out of the classroom

Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and student wellbeing
