Teaching Assistant (BG5)

20 hours per week | Term time only +  Fixed-term (12 months)

BG6 Pay Scale: BG6 Salary Range £25,989 to £26,403 FTE

Actual Starting Salary - £12,156 per annum 

Start Date – September 2026 following interview and DBS Clearance

We are seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (BG6) to join our team. This role focuses on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning, feel safe and supported, and make progress. 

The role is not phase-specific and may involve working across different classes or year groups, depending on pupil needs. 

The role will include: 

Supporting pupils with SEND on an individual or small-group basis 

Supporting pupils’ wellbeing, communication, regulation and engagement throughout the school day 

Helping to create a calm, inclusive and well-organised learning environment, including preparing resources as directed

Has experience supporting pupils with SEND 

Is patient, calm and responsive to pupils who may need additional support 

Works flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team 

Communicates clearly and positively with pupils and colleagues 

Is committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding
