Cabot Learning Federation – Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship

Our academies are organised into geographically local clusters serving Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, and Somerset.
We are currently looking for an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join Wallscourt Primary Academy in North Bristol. If you are looking for an apprenticeship that will help you develop your skills in working with children, the Cabot Learning Federation could be the ideal place to begin your career.
Teaching Assistants work within our primary schools to support pupils and class teachers, helping to enhance learning through both individual and small-group support. They ensure pupils understand the work set, are clear about their learning objectives, and remain focused on their tasks so they can make good progress. Promoting self-belief, social inclusion, and high self-esteem is an integral part of the role, helping to ensure pupils thrive in a positive, nurturing, and safe learning environment. This is an active and rewarding role that supports pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their full potential.

- to be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device
- Some work experience or voluntary work with children is highly recommended.
Entry Requirements:
- Typically candidates will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or 4/5 and above, including Maths and English.
- Candidates without maths or English may be offered a pre-apprenticeship or an extended apprenticeship duration, based on their initial assessment results.
- Apprentices without English and Maths at Level 2 must achieve these prior to taking the End Point Assessment.
Salary Information: Successful applicants will receive an hourly rate of £8.00 during the first year of the apprenticeship. After the first year, pay will increase to the applicable National Minimum Wage, based on the apprentice's age (19 or over), for the remainder of the apprenticeship.
Required for September/October (or sooner if available).
