Assistant School Business Manager

Full-time, 37 hours per week, All year round 08:30-16:30pm

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant School Business Manager to join the School’s busy Business Support Team. This role is diverse and will provide many opportunities to develop a wide range of skill sets to support your future career development. This would ideally suit someone who perhaps has worked as a School Business Manager in the primary sector, looking to move to secondary or who has business management experience in another service sector with transferable skills and experience, looking to move into education.
Duties will include but not limited to:
Compliance and administration: - Manage the school’s compliance with statutory obligations, and advise others on the relevant legal, regulatory and ethical requirements
Leadership: Responsible for line-managing HR & Finance Administrators, Site and IT teams including appraisal and professionaldevelopment.
Management and Provision of HR: Undertake role of Human Resources Manager managing recruitment, staff wellbeing, HR processes and administration.
Financial Management: Manage the school’s budget and ensure it is balanced, realistic, and represents an effective use of public fund
Health and Safety: Manage the school’s compliance with health and safety regulations, and put in place processes and procedures to ensurethe safety of all in the school
Facilities Management: Manage and support the Site team to perform day to day tasks. Support planning of annual maintenance schedule and supervise the maintenance of the school site
Third Party and other Key Responsibilities: Monitor third party contracts for example, catering and cleaning; being the key point of contact, managing performance and preparation of ad-hoc and regular reports.
