Afternoon/Evening /Lettings Caretaker

Location: North West Bristol, BS10

Permanent and Year Round

Pay Range: NJC8 – 12 £20,493 - £22,183

Hours of work:

· 37 hours per week.

· Monday to Friday: Shifts 12:00 midday – 8:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. with

30 minutes unpaid break & finishing 30 minutes earlier on a Friday.

· Some flexibility will be required to provide cover for other members of the caretaking team so occasional early and day-time shifts may be required

Bristol Free School is a successful and oversubscribed secondary school with Sixth Form situated in Westbury on Tyrm. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, efficient, flexible, friendly and reliable person to work to increase capacity of our existing dedicated site team.

The role is to provide high quality security, internal and external maintenance to ensure BFS is a safe working environment for our students and staff.

Duties to include: securing the site in the evenings, acting as main point of contact for evening lettings, general premises maintenance, security of the buildings and site, ensuring the inside and outside environment are well maintained and meet Health and Safety requirements.

Other necessary qualities include confidentiality, efficiency and being able to work on your own initiative and under pressure and a willingness to contribute to the continued improvement of our school. Experience of maintenance, plumbing or DIY would be an advantage.

Key responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Security: Providing full security support for the school, which include but not limited to – opening and closing the school, gate duties, routine maintenance and site supervision.

· Lettings: Being main point of contact on site for external lettings

· Health and Safety: Undertaking and recording regular essential checks

· Internal Maintenance Reporting, inspecting and undertaking minor repairs and monitoring contractors and cleaners

· External Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and general tidiness of all external areas to make sure the school remains a safe working environment
