We are looking for a School Nurse to join our supportive and talented team at Bristol Grammar School. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to support Bristol Grammar School in its continuing drive to put the wellbeing of its pupils at the heart of all that it does. We are looking for a proactive thinker who looks to take the initiative in driving ideas that will benefit the whole community.

This a permanent post, 40 hours per week working term-time with some additional weeks in the holidays. This could either be with one role holder working full-time or two part-time role holders.

The Medical Centre is open from 8:30 to 4:30pm each day. As an essential part of the school community, the nurse team cover the medical provision for staff and pupils throughout the school day. This includes First Aid, various pupil and staff clinics, as well as mental health support and advising staff prior to taking pupils out of school on trips. The School Nurse has general responsibility for the regular monitoring of the pupils with the aim of assessing their general standard of health and detecting any likely health problems which could affect the child's development or capacity to learn.

The ideal candidate will be either a RGN, RSCN or Associate nurse, currently registered with the NMC, with prior experience of working with children and adults in a professional capacity. Being an effective communicator is key, as you will need to be able to respond sensitively to children of all ages (4-18), as well as adult members of staff.
