We are looking for a passionate and inspiring qualified Religious Studies and Humanities Teacher to join our supportive and talented team at Bristol Metropolitan Academy. This position is a permanent, full-time contract required from 1st September 2021. Willingness to teach history to KS3 level would also be required. For the right candidate a TLR is available for Programme Leader of RS. At Bristol Met RS is taught discretely to all students in Year 7, 8 and 9 and is a popular GCSE Options at KS4.

We look for passionate individuals who want to be a part of transforming education and will make an active contribution to the development of the Cabot Learning Federation and chosen Academy. You will be used to planning and consistently delivering high quality lessons, will have experience in delivering the curriculum in your chosen area and will be a strong communicator with the ability to embrace change and motivate colleagues and students. A well-qualified specialist, holding QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, you will have the ability to teach from Key Stage 3- Key Stage 4. We look for professionals who have excellent class management skills and have high expectations of work and student outcomes.

In Summer 2019 the Academy secured attainment that exceeded national average for the first time, with the best results the Academy has ever had. We also secured our best ever Progress 8 score at over +0.5. This followed a trend of continued improvement and one we continued to see in Summer 2020 against the difficult backdrop of the pandemic (and of course without official validation of national outcomes).
