Attendance Officer

Actual Annual Salary: £26,513 - £28,924

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £30,963 - £33,779 (CLF Grade D) Based on all Year Round

Contract Type: Full time, Fixed Term, Term Time Only, plus Inset Days

Contract Length: Fixed until 31/08/2026

Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Proposed Start: May 2025

We are looking for a passionate Attendance Officer to join our supportive and talented team at John Cabot Academy.

The Attendance Officer will work alongside relevant academy staff to contribute to raising student achievement by improving student attendance. They will deliver measurable impact in accordance with performance expectations. They will accurately maintain the academy’s legal attendance records within strict deadlines, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. The postholder will monitor student attendance and initiate appropriate action as required in line with academy policy. The postholder will promote and support high levels of attendance and a positive attendance and punctuality culture within the academy.

John Cabot Academy is an 11-16 academy in South Gloucestershire close to the border of Bristol. We share our site and staffing with the CLF Post-16 provision, forming an 11-18 Academy. The Academy has a strong reputation both locally and regionally.

This role has significant responsibility for ensuring safeguarding practice within the academy. This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity.
