Your opportunity to use your catering and kitchen preparation skills at Snowdon Village Academy in Bristol:
Snowdon Village, an alternative provision in Redfield, Bristol, is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic chef to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality meals to students and maintaining a clean, well-organised kitchen environment.
The successful candidate will start at 7:00 am to prepare breakfast for our 15 students, followed by morning snacks and a varied lunch menu offering both hot and cold options. The day will conclude with kitchen clean-up and preparation for the next academic day.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is comfortable working independently at times, while also benefiting from the support and line management of staff at a nearby CLF academy.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys both the creative and responsible aspects of being a chef, and who is keen to build positive relationships with our students.
About you:
- Have an understanding of the working conditions within a busy kitchen environment.
- Evidence of formal training in areas such as COSHH, HACCP, Food Hygiene, Manual Handling.
- Experience of catering for in an educational environment and/or functions such as weddings, buffets, etc.
- Experience of supervising a catering team.
- Good standards of hygiene.
- Patient, calm and works well under pressure.

Snowdon Village is a multi-site, cross-phase alternative provision that sits within the heart of the CLF. The Snowdon Village sites include The Nest, Engage, Bristol Futures Academy and City School.
Our primary aim is to meet the needs of children and young adults who have social, emotional and mental health issues by offering a suite of alternatives to mainstream school.
