The ARC team is looking to appoint a flexible, patient, skilled and creative autism worker able to collaborate and support our ARC Programme Lead to deliver a package of EY curriculum based intervention and therapy to a named child affected by autism and social communication difficulty.

While experience and a good understanding of the autistic profile of need is appreciated, above all we want to appoint a worker who is able to put our named child at the heart of all their best efforts and can develop good relationships with all stakeholders; the child, the parents, the school, the ASC service.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL:

• Be calm, resilient, tactful, unflappable and able to manage unpredictable behaviours

• Happy to work as part of a team committed to creative and solution focussed approaches to pupil care

• Willing to become fully informed about the autistic profile and in particular recognising that autism comes in all different shapes and sizes and that no two children are ever the same

• Excellent communicators, able to develop confidence in others to adjust, adapt and accommodate difference to enable access to our taught social curriculum

• Good humoured and flexible, flexible, flexible!

The post will occasionally require lone working and candidates will need to be self-reliant, well organised and comfortable in a range of working environments.

WE OFFER YOU:

• Excellent professional development and promotion opportunities;

• Brunel Perks – exclusive discounts on a range of products and retailers;

• Enthusiastic and supportive colleagues, parents & Governors;

• An opportunity to shape the future of the school and the staff and pupils within it.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment is subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service Check, references & medical clearance. We are committed to equal opportunities.
