BASIS stands for Brunel Autism Support and Inclusion Services. It is the umbrella organisation that includes our world famous and highly unique ARC traded services, which support and look out for our special ASD/SCID affected youngsters and their families. BASIS also hosts the Swindon LA commissioned ASC Advisory Teacher Team who respond to referrals and requests for advice and guidance around meeting the needs of our ASD/SCID children and young people attending Swindon Borough mainstream schools.

Like many services, the ARC and the ASC Advisory teams are experiencing a significant pressure in demand for support and involvement. We are really keen to explore how we might build capacity and give ourselves access, when required, to skilled and experienced SEND teacher practitioners who might relish the opportunity to undertake some occasional specialist teaching of small groups and individuals where Autism or social communication difficulty is the core presenting area of need.

You might be a SENDCo, already working part time, who would welcome the opportunity to develop your specialist skills by working an additional day/few hours here and there. Maybe you are a qualified and experienced teacher, experienced in SEND support, but really keen to find out if this work could be for you, or maybe you are simply a great teacher between posts and just have some time available to offer us. Whatever your reason, whatever your situation, if you are interested in joining our exclusive BASIS ASC Specialist Teacher supply list please apply.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment is subject to a Disclosure and Barring check, references and medical clearance. We are committed to equal opportunities.

All suitable applicants will be invited to an interview at a time of mutual convenience.

Closing Date: 1st September 2022
