The School Business Manager strategically leads: Finance, HR, Procurement, Health and Safety, and line manages administrative and premises staff.
We are looking for a friendly, flexible person ideally with experience in a school setting (or in an accounting role). Applicants should be experienced in working at a strategic level and be able to demonstrate strong budget management skills:
• Financial expertise and budget management skills
• Knowledge and experience of business disciplines for example, HR, procurement and premises
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• IT proficient, with sound knowledge of Excel and Word
• Knowledge of school MIS and other IT software systems
• Willingness to contribute to all areas of school life
• Self-motivated and able to work using initiative
With excellent communication and teamwork skills and a high level of computer literacy, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operational leadership of the school:
• Budgeting and Finance: Overseeing financial planning, management, and reporting
• Human Resources: Managing HR functions, including staff recruitment and development
• Site Management: Running of the school buildings and grounds, ensuring health and safety standards are maintained
• Administration Teams: Leading and supporting office staff to ensure efficient administration processes. Managing key support services (catering, IT etc.)
Experience of working effectively in a school setting is desirable, as is experience of liaising with all levels of school staff, governors, pupils and third-party suppliers. You should have excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills, and an enthusiasm for working with young people.
