Assistant Director of Education (Strategic Lead for SEND) Required

Permanent, Full-Time

Hybrid – based at home but must be able to travel to all schools within the Trust

We are looking for an inspirational practitioner within SEN. This new role has been created and offering exciting opportunities to be part of a large successful Multi- Academy Trust in the South West Region.

With 42 schools and over 8,000 pupils, BWMAT is a large Multi-academy Trust. We are a strong Trust and looking to expand our central team with an outstanding leader who can bring nationally recognised expertise to our SEND and Disadvantaged agenda. We strive for all our children to be the best version of themselves through the delivery of our Education Strategy.

 The role:

The role can be described as school improvement and strategic system leadership. The candidate will be accountable for the performance of the Trust’s SEND and Disadvantaged agenda. They will also develop and provide strategic oversight to BWMAT’s overall SEND strategy and our Disadvantaged strategy whilst playing a key role in school improvement 0-16.

The role would suit a candidate with outstanding leadership experience as a Headteacher, Executive Headteacher, NLE or with comparable experience linked to specific expertise (e.g. HMI, Adviser, LA, Systems Leader), in rapidly raising standards.

 About us:

Our academies are located across the South West covering three Local Authorities (Somerset, North Somerset and Bath and North East Somerset). We are looking for an excellent practitioner to support the development of SEND from our 0-2 settings through to the end of Key Stage 4.
