Our SEMH Resource Base at St Nicholas Church School is entering a truly exciting phase of development. With an admission limit of up to 20 children across the provision, a dedicated team that includes another experienced teacher, strong leadership support and oversight, and a high ratio of teaching assistants to pupils, we are shaping a nurturing, personalised and ambitious environment for every child. As we evolve our curriculum and rethink the way we do things, this is a fantastic moment to join us and help make a real difference to the lives of the children who join our Base.
We are looking for a highly organised, well-motivated and passionate teacher to join our Primary Resource Base team—someone excited by the opportunity to drive change, innovate in practice and contribute to a caring, aspirational learning community.
St Nicholas Church School is looking for a teacher who:
- Is passionate about education and eager to challenge themselves in becoming an exceptional practitioner;
- Understands how to support children with a diverse range of SEND needs, and can create a classroom environment where every child feels valued and empowered to succeed;
- Uses trauma-informed approaches, recognising the importance of emotional safety and social development as part of the daily curriculum;
- Has experience of planning for the curriculum through continuous provision (or is keen to learn), recognising the importance of developmental learning for all pupils;
- Communicates clearly and compassionately, working collaboratively with families and external professionals to ensure the very best outcomes for our young people;
- Understands the EHCP process and can support pupils as part of the annual cycle, including contributing to review meetings;
- Holds high expectations and believes that all children can thrive in their learning when supported effectively;
- Reflects on and develops their own practice, embracing new ideas as we evolve our Resource Base curriculum and provision;
- Enjoys being part of a vibrant, supportive school community and contributes positively to wider school life;
- Brings positivity to their work every day!
In return, we offer:
- The opportunity to make a genuine, lasting difference to the lives of the children you teach;
- Kind, caring and enthusiastic children who live our values and are eager to learn;
- Small class sizes, enabling stronger relationships and personalised learning;
- Ongoing professional development and the chance to grow alongside our expanding and evolving Resource Base offer;
- A forward thinking, ambitious and dedicated staff team committed to excellence and inclusion;
- A supportive community school with a strong Christian ethos, where every voice matters.
Candidates are invited to contact the school and arrange a tour with Will Low (Co-Head of School). If you would like to arrange this, please contact the school office.
