An exciting opportunity to deliver engaging Science lessons and inspire the next generation of scientists at Bristol Metropolitan Academy.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Science (M1) to join us on a fixed-term secondment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early career teacher to develop strong classroom practice while contributing to a high-performing and supportive Science department.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching that promotes curiosity, builds confidence and supports all students to achieve their full potential. Our focus on high expectations, a knowledge-rich curriculum and excellent teaching ensures that our students are equipped for lifelong success.
The Science team is made up of a blend of experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers, making it a welcoming and supportive environment for someone at the beginning of their teaching career. The department is also supported by two dedicated technicians, ensuring practical lessons are well-resourced and effectively delivered.
About you
You will be:
- be a qualified teacher (or hold an equivalent teaching qualification) with secure subject knowledge in Science.
- be able to deliver the Science curriculum effectively and teach consistently high-quality lessons, promoting curiosity and a love of learning.
- be committed to supporting the needs of all learners, including pupil premium students, looked-after children, those with SEND, EAL learners and higher-attaining pupils.
- have strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with students, colleagues and families.
- be willing to contribute to the wider life of the academy, including enrichment opportunities, STEM activities, trips and clubs.
- demonstrate a commitment to your own professional development, making the most of the support available within the academy and Trust.
- be developing competence across the Teachers’ Standards, appropriate to career stage (M1).
