Actual Annual Salary: £32,274 - £35,692 (Based on hours and working weeks)
Full Time Equivalent Salary: £35,852 - £39,649 (CLF Grade E). Based on 37 hours per week, all year round.

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday / Term Time Only, plus INSETS & 10 additional days

We are looking for a Pastoral Lead (Head of House) who will facilitate and encourage a learning environment which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential and have a positive school experience. The postholder will support in raising standards of student attainment and achievement across key groups and ability profiles.
This is a pivotal role at the heart of our Post 16 provision, supporting students’ welfare, personal development, and overall success. You will champion a culture of high expectations, build strong and trusting relationships with students and families, and work closely with pastoral colleagues, senior leaders, and external agencies to ensure every young person receives the support they need to thrive.
About you:
You will have:
- Knowledge of legislation, guidance, and relevant research which inform safeguarding practices, including low level concerns.
- An understanding of student support, Information Advice and Guidance and Child Protection protocols.
- An understanding of the range of issues that can affect a student’s attendance and a willingness to keep up to date with developments in this area.
- Knowledge and understanding of specific learning difficulties such as SEMH, ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.
- An understanding of the needs and values of different communities, in particular the different cultures the academy serves.
- An understanding of the next steps available to students in Post 16 and provide a support approach.
- Current successful school experience with a responsibility for student welfare / raising achievement.
About CLF Post 16:
The CLF Post 16 Academy is situated in South Gloucestershire, hosted at John Cabot Academy, and serves the students of Bristol across two local authorities. We are a centre of education for ages 16-19 offering a range of level 1, 2 and 3 vocational courses and a full breadth of A Level qualifications.
