Job Title: Cleaning Operative

Actual Annual Salary: £10,512 - £10,732 (Based on actual working hours and working weeks)

Hourly rate: £12.60  

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £24,310 - £24,819 (CLF Grade Ai) (Based on 37 hours per week, all year round)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Part time, 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday / All year round

The Cleaning Operative is expected to work as part of a team and assist in the provision of a high standard of cleaning, ensuring the academy is a clean and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.

You will have:

  • Knowledge of the use of basic cleaning methods, equipment, and materials.
  • Practical experience of understanding and following processes and procedures.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • A keen interest in working within an education environment and commitment to inclusion and acceptance of all.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement through professional development, self-evaluation, and awareness

About The Sky Academy:

Sky Academy is a special school for young people in years 5-11 who have an EHCP to support their SEMH and SCL needs. Located in Taunton, our catchment of young people comes from those who live within a 75-minute drive across Somerset. At our core is a belief that every young person deserves the right to an educative experience that prepares them for adulthood and opens doors at post-16. We do this by providing a targeted core curriculum that focuses in equal parts on literacy, numeracy, PSHCE, and PE in addition to a wider curriculum of art, ICT, careers and life skills.
