We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional teacher and aspirational leader to join our supportive and talented Humanities Team as Curriculum Leader History.

Bristol Brunel Academy is an oversubscribed, forward-thinking Academy based in Speedwell, Bristol, rated “Good” by Ofsted in 2013 and confirmed “Good” again in 2017. The Academy celebrates diversity and serves a vibrant multi-cultural in-take. Bristol Brunel's leadership and staff are passionate about the development of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and want this to be reflected throughout the Academy including representation within the staff body. A significant proportion of students are from different minority groups and disadvantaged backgrounds. Students are excited to learn and are real ambassadors for our diverse community. They benefit from a positive and supportive learning environment.

In addition to delivering consistently strong lessons and outcomes in History, the successful candidate will have the ability to teach another Humanities subject. You will maintain an excellent working environment for History that is both inspiring and functional for students and teachers, designing and delivering schemes of work/programmes of study that challenges all abilities across all year groups.

We can offer you the opportunity to advance your career within a supportive academy environment. We provide excellent training and development opportunities within the Federation, including a full induction programme for early career and experienced teachers. Training is both local and/or delivered through our excellent stand-alone training facility at the CLF Institute. For teachers, the CLF Institute aims to provide a continuum of development through each career stage from initial teacher training (ITT), for early career teachers (ECT), recently qualified teachers in their early career development, to successive stages of leadership through to Headship and beyond.

We look for passionate individuals who want to be a part of transforming education and will make an active contribution to the development of the Cabot Learning Federation and Bristol Brunel Academy. We need innovative and creative Curriculum Leaders who can support the academic, vocational and SEND aspects of the curriculum and integrate the diverse resources available in our City.  Your skills will be used to plan and consistently deliver high quality lessons. You will have experience in delivering the curriculum in your chosen area and be able to design curriculum pathways outside of your specialism. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to embrace change and motivate colleagues and students. A well-qualified specialist, holding QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, you will have the ability to teach from ages of 14 to 16. We look for professionals who have excellent class management skills and have high expectations of work and behaviour, and are able to build outstanding relationships with both students and staff.
