Job Title: Deputy Estates Manager – North Somerset

Start Date: May 2024

Contract: Permanent, all year round

Salary: Grade F (£37,129 - £39,699)

Hours: 37 hours per week

We are looking for a motivational and inspiring Deputy Estates Manager to join our established Estates team. We are a growing organisation, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning. 

You will provide leadership, support and guidance to the Premises Managers based within our academies throughout North Somerset and play an important part in the ongoing development and implementation of the Estates strategy. Office days are likely to be spent at Winterstoke Hundred Academy in Weston super Mare.

What we are looking for:

To be successful in the post, we are looking for someone decisive and committed with good prioritisation skills who can communicate clear expectations to the premises teams. You will take direction from the Estates Manager, be IT literate, flexible in your approach to work and be able to form excellent working relationships with your team, colleagues and academy Principals and Operations Managers.

Ideally, you will have previous management experience working in education facilities or estates management, however consideration will be given if you can demonstrate transferrable skills from a similar type role or comparable background.

This role is based at an academy within the cluster and sits within the wider Cabot Learning Federation Estates Team. You will undertake a wide range of duties including:

  • Proactively building collaborative working within the cluster
  • Managing the induction, performance and development of the cluster Premises teams
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of standard operating procedures
  • Monitoring the premises helpdesk and assist with reporting
  • Ensuring adequate levels of staffing within the cluster
  • Contributing to the development of asset management planning
  • Monitoring the Premises teams work routines and checking progress
  • Supporting the Premises teams in the delivery of remedial action plans
  • Assisting with the delivery of an effective premises helpdesk function
  • Providing input into the development and implementation of the CAFM system
  • Overseeing compliance and maintenance schedules
  • Assisting with the monitoring of Estates budgets
  • Promoting and encouraging a strong Health & Safety culture

The successful candidate will receive training on the CAFM system.
