Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: CLF 10 - £33,450 - £37,129. Actual starting salary for Term Time only + 5 inset days + three additional weeks - £30,850.

What we are looking for:

Due to our new additional site which opened in January 2024, Winterstoke Hundred Academy are pleased to be looking for an inspiring Head of House to join the existing supportive and talented team. This role requires a professional and ambitious person who has a passion for transforming students’ learning and inspire those around them. Our staff have high aspirations for their students and want to play a part in improving these young people’s life chances. This role has been created to enhance our house system and will be a non-teaching position.

What we are looking for:

We look for individuals who want to be a part of transforming education and will make an active contribution to the development of the Cabot Learning Federation. We are looking to appoint an experienced Learning Mentor to lead and take responsibility for the Pastoral support of a ‘Head of House’ at Winterstoke Hundred Academy. We operate a vertical tutoring system and have organised our pastoral structure into four houses. This is an exciting career opportunity for anyone wishing to expand their current mentoring experience by taking on a leadership role. The successful candidate will help direct the work of the tutor groups who will support you in this role and work closely with other internal support personnel and external agencies. In this role you will be:

  • Monitoring/tracking individual student progress and behaviour, anticipating, or acting upon any issues detrimental to learning and referring on where appropriate.
  • Ensuring parents are informed of progress regularly and of any issues in relation to welfare/safety
  • Improving the rates of attendance and reducing the incidences of lateness of students in your college as well as contributing to schemes to improve these across the Academy
  • Actively contribute to the raising attainment agenda to support and improve the achievement and attainment of students in your house.
