We are looking for a Lead Cover Supervisor to join our supportive and talented team at Bristol Metropolitan Academy. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning.
This position is full time 37 hours per week, term time only plus 5 inset days. The post-holder will be required to track absence requests within SIMS Cover Manager (training provided) and arrange for the booking of supply staff where appropriate. In addition they will spend much of their day co-supervising classes who are absent their usual teacher using our cover supervisor team based approach to cover lessons.
What we are looking for:
To be successful in the post, we are looking for a Lead Cover Supervisor who will lead a team ensuring that lesson cover undertaken is of a high standard and meets academy needs. Will be responsible for co-ordinating lesson cover within the Academy. They will supervise whole classes and/or small groups during the short term absence of the timetabled class teacher, whether planned or un-planned absence. Ensure students carry out the curriculum tasks set by the absent teacher, assisting them to understand the nature of the work set, managing student behaviour and minimising the impact of the teacher’s absence on their learning.
