We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Leisure Attendant to work a contracted schedule across our sports centres at Winterstoke Hundred Academy (Beaufighter Road and Locking Parklands) plus Hans Price Academy.
You will play an important part in ensuring our facilities are safe, welcoming and well-run for all users.
Contracted Working Hours:
Monday: 16:30 – 22:30 (WHA Beaufighter Road) Tuesday: 16:30 – 22:30 (WHA Locking Parklands)
Thursday: 16:30 – 22:30 (WHA Locking Parklands) Friday: 16:30 – 22:30 (Hans Price Academy)
Saturday: 12:00 – 18:00 (Hans Price Academy)*
*Saturday hours are subject to bookings and may vary slightly throughout the year depending on demand
About the role
As a Leisure Attendant, you’ll help keep our sports centres running smoothly by:
Setting up and packing down equipment for activities and bookings in a safe and timely way
Supervising users and supporting the safe use of facilities
Keeping spaces clean and tidy, including changing rooms and indoor/outdoor areas
Carrying out routine facility checks and basic maintenance of equipment
Providing friendly and helpful customer service to visitors, community groups and hirers
Supporting site security, including being a key holder where required
You’ll be working as part of a supportive team and may occasionally work solo once fully trained. Shifts may include evenings and weekends.
About you
We are looking for people who are:
• Safety aware – understands health & safety, security and safeguarding; stays alert when supervising facility users
• Great with people – communicates clearly, stays calm under pressure, handles queries and concerns professionally
• Hands on and practical – comfortable with moving equipment, basic maintenance and keeping facilities clean
• Adaptable and proactive – able to work independently within guidelines, use initiative and solve problems quickly
• Committed to inclusion and safeguarding – promotes safety, equality and positive experiences for all users
Desirable (but not essential):
• Experience in sports/leisure or working in an educational setting
• First aid training (or willingness to complete it)
