Job Title: Leisure Attendant

We are looking for a Leisure Attendant to join our supportive and talented team at Monkton Wood Academy. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning. The successful applicant will become a member of the CLF Leisure and Lettings team.

This role is based at Monkton Wood Academy, Taunton. The contracted 5 hours per week can be discussed at interview, with a preference for Saturday availability. Additional overtime shifts are arranged 4–6 weeks in advance based on bookings and operational needs. Shifts are dependent on bookings.

Shift length: typically 3–6 hours, unless preagreed. Staff rotas are arranged approximately 4–6 weeks in advance based on your stated availability. Occasional lastminute cover may be offered to support staff absence. The site is closed for approximately 2 weeks over Christmas and on public holidays.

At the end of the fixed term MAT period in March 2027, employment could be transferred to a casual role on a zerohours basis, if agreed.

About Monkton Wood Academy: 

Alongside its work with students, Monkton Wood Academy operates a busy and developing Sports Centre, which opens to the public during evenings, weekends, and school holidays. The centre plays a key role in our connection with the community, offering a welcoming and professional environment for sports clubs, fitness classes, community groups, and private bookings.

As part of the CLF Leisure & Lettings team, the Sports Centre aims to deliver a high‑quality experience for all visitors, ensuring safe, clean, and well‑maintained facilities. Our Leisure Attendants are central to this mission — supporting bookings, assisting customers, preparing activity spaces, and maintaining high standards throughout the site.
