We are looking for a passionate and inspiring qualified Teacher of Art to join our supportive and talented team at Bristol Futures – Snowdon Village. We are a growing organisation, looking for professional ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning through an innovative and creative curriculum.

We believe all young people are entitled to an inspiring and engaging education, which will enable them to achieve meaningful futures; in terms of careers, personal independence and an ability to make a positive contribution to society. This is why we use a specialist delivery model, which we continue to develop with our mainstream colleagues form Cabot Learning Federation. We strive to provide personalised, flexible and innovative programmes of study centred around the needs of each individual student.

At Bristol Futures, we enable our students to overcome barriers to learning and equip them with the skills they need to for success and progression, whether this is re-integration into a mainstream provision or progression onto Post 16 study, apprenticeship or another pathway.

A part-time contract, 0.8, would be considered for the right candidate.

About Snowdon Village:

Snowdon Village is the term used to describe a family of schools that sit within the Cabot Learning Federation. We currently have 4 schools namely, The Nest, Engage, Bristol Futures Academy and City School.

Our schools are alternative provisions and we provide education to students (ages 4 – 16) who have been excluded from mainstream schools or who have specific learning needs which mean they find it difficult to cope in a mainstream setting.

The Snowdon Village Values are:

  • Positivity
  • Equity
  • Resilience
  • Love

We are a trauma informed school and having an awareness and understanding of trauma sits at the heart of everything we do.

Mission Statement

Snowdon Village empowers the next generation of young people by providing a platform which creates opportunities for their life long journey. We value and promote creativity and teach transferable life skills, which are bespoke to meet the needs of the young people we work with. The holistic education we provide helps our young people develop and transition through the Village and beyond.

We have high expectations for all our students and seek to guide our individual young people on their chosen path towards their peak potential.

Curriculum Intent

We aim to provide an innovative and creative curriculum which will engage and empower young people to be confident learners who have a strong sense of belonging.

Our curriculum will challenge self-doubt and negative preconceptions by carefully scaffolding the learning to meet all individual needs; enabling our students to have a positive and sustainable future

Your opportunity:

We can offer you the opportunity to advance your career within a supportive academy environment. We provide excellent training and development opportunities within the Federation, including a full induction programme for early career and experienced teachers. Training is both local and/or delivered through our excellent stand-alone training facility at the CLF Institute. For teachers, the CLF Institute aims to provide a continuum of development through each career stage from initial teacher training (ITT), for Early Career Teachers (ECT), recently qualified teachers in their early career development, to successive stages of leadership through to Headship and beyond.

What we are looking for:

We look for passionate individuals who want to be a part of transforming education and will make an active contribution to the development of Snowdon Village and the Cabot Learning Federation. You will be used to planning and consistently delivering high quality lessons, will have experience in delivering the Art curriculum and will be a strong communicator with the ability to embrace change and motivate colleagues and students. Individuals with primary sector experience are also welcome.

Your duties will specifically include:

  • Monitor and report on the progress of students and take appropriate action to ensure all students achieve their potential through exceptional methods of feedback.
  • Meeting the needs of learners from key identified groups, including pupil premium, looked after children, SEND and High Attaining students.
  • Recognise, value and support the delivery of opportunities which extend beyond the confines of classroom delivery and seek to enrich and add value to the students experience & learning.
  • Empowered to develop your own expert practice and support the development of others.
