£28,598-£31,022 pro rata (pay award pending)
Caerleon Comprehensive School is a popular high-achieving school with a student role of 1500 students including 250 post-16, and a strong focus on outstanding achievement for all.
The Governing Body wish to appoint a well organised, self-motivated, enthusiastic and hard working person to work within the school, providing technical support for Design and Technology. The successful candidate is one that can quickly adapt and contribute to the school. Training in the working practices of the department will be given and there is opportunity for development in the post. This is a well-established and popular element of the curriculum and is well resourced and accommodated in the purpose-built Design and Technology building.
GCSEs grades A - C / NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
Good ICT skills
Good numeracy/literacy skills.
Some experience in a technical/resource support role, including use of relevant technology
You should be able to demonstrate organisational, communication and time management skills. You should have secure knowledge of working with metal, wood, plastics and associated machinery. You should be capable of working alone or as part of a team, with a flexible working approach which will include helping in all areas of D & T including food and textiles.
Hours of work are 8.30 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday (includes 30 minutes’ unpaid lunch break) term time plus 2 weeks.
