CRC is a really exciting place to work and as we grow we are looking for a caring, personable and empathetic Learning Support Mentor with a real flair for empowering people to join our Employability team.

The Employability team at CRC educate and care for learners from a wide range of ages from 16- Adult learners. We are looking for someone who can support our 16-18 cohort of students with the opportunity to support the wider team in the community. Every day is different, and you will be supporting our students in a wide range of subjects that help to promote their confidence, independence, employability, and self-reliance.

We are ideally seeking candidates who have experience of working in a similar role and with a similar age range with knowledge of supporting students working at Entry level to level 2.

As part of the role, you will:

  • Support students with a range of learning difficulties and other disabilities.
  • Enable reasonable adjustments to help students to engage.
  • Mentor students and encourage them to remain on task.
  • Model skills so that the student can understand the tasks.
  • Promote our college values.

What we are looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • GCSE English grade C / 4 or equivalent - or willing to work towards gaining this qualification
  •  Happy to undergo relevant training
  •  Enjoy working across college faculties i.e. supporting students on a variety of courses
  •  Have recent and demonstrable experience of working with people with special education needs (desirable, but not essential)
  •  A positive ‘can do’ attitude, sensitive to others needs, patient and reliable
  • A team player yet also able to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
