Cambridge Regional College are currently looking for a dynamic teacher to work for our Access to HE team at our Cambridge campus. You will join us on a variable hours basis with an hourly rate of £23.04 per hour.

About the role:

You will be responsible for the delivery of the Numeracy in a Health Context unit within Access to HE (Health Professions) (A level equivalent). There will be 3 hours delivery for our Health Professions Day course.

You will need to prepare all lessons and keep the college’s Moodle pages (VLE) / MS Teams up to date to support learning. As part of the role, you will also be required to assess work electronically (through MS Teams), internally moderate students’ work and participate in External verifier meetings. You will need to follow Quality Assurance processes both within the college and as part of the awarding bodies’ requirements.

What we are looking for in our role:

Educated to degree level (or about to complete) in biology or a related science, and preferably with a teacher trainer qualification, you are an aspiring teacher who makes full use of active learning strategies. You have an excellent awareness of health and safety within a practical setting and can confidently plan and supervise appropriate practicals as part of your teaching strategy. You have the ability to support the development of transferable study skills in preparation for either HE or employment. You will need to discuss student issues with other team members and work collaboratively to ensure excellent retention and success. You will have a willingness to share good practice and collaborate with Access teams with a good sense of humour and enthusiasm to enhance the student experience.
