As London’s environmental college, the College plays a vital role in the green agenda for the capital, equipping the next generation of land-based sector workers with the skills and knowledge needed to preserve and protect London’s wildlife, national parks and green spaces.

To support its ambitious plans, the College is recruiting a College Accountant. The successful candidate will be play a key role in delivering the high quality financial services to the College and ensuring that all financial requirements are met. They will act as a deputy to the Director of Financial Services. This position will provide exposure to all aspects of finance and is therefore an excellent opportunity for someone looking to learn and develop their skills and career.

Core responsibilities encompass overseeing month-end closures and associated financial accounting tasks (including pension and payroll management), alongside the preparation of monthly management accounts. Additionally, the role involves steering a newly instituted budget partner model, supervising a small team, and supporting internal and external audits.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with substantial experience of working in a finance environment, encompassing both financial and management accounting. Adept at preparing and analysing financial data to facilitate informed decision-making, they will demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills, and an aptitude for managing and developing team members within the Finance department
