Over the last 50 years, Capel Manor College has helped thousands of school leavers and adults achieve their dream of working with animals, plants and the environment. As London’s environmental college, the College plays a vital role in the green agenda for the capital, equipping the next generation of land-based sector workers with the skills and knowledge needed to preserve and protect London’s wildlife, national parks and green spaces.

Are you a Maths enthusiast who is able to explain how to solve an equation, calculate percentages or work out a ratio? If so, join Capel Manor College as a Maths Lecturer and embark on an exciting career spent passing on your knowledge to the next generation.

We are looking for a passionate and committed individual to join our team to teach GCSE Maths to our students. This will involve preparing and delivering stimulating lessons, setting goals that stretch and challenge all students, monitoring and assessing student progress, giving feedback and consistently demonstrating the positive attitudes, values and behaviours which are expected of students. We understand that Maths is not just about learning formulas or analysing data and are looking for someone who can help our students understand that Maths is about critical thinking and problem solving and its importance in everyday life.

While applications from experienced Maths tutors are welcome, formal teaching experience is not necessary. We also look for individuals with a passion for Mathematics and a desire to share this with others. If you think that you can develop intellectual curiosity and create a love of learning, we would like to hear from you.

Full training and support will be provided to those without formal teaching experience. This includes a comprehensive induction programme, ongoing support from an experienced Lecturer and the College will cover the cost of studying towards a recognised teaching qualification. Teaching in Further Education is an extremely rewarding career. To find out more, search Teach in FE.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative and beautiful land-based environment.

In order to be considered for the position, an application form must be completed. CVs will not be accepted. For further details and to apply, please visit the job vacancies section on the Capel Manor College website.

Please note that the College does not have a sponsorship licence. We are therefore unable to consider applicants who do not have the right to work in the UK.

We reserve the right to close a position once sufficient suitable applications have been received to form a short list. Early application is therefore encouraged.

What’s in it for you?

We offer the opportunity to help develop your skills and knowledge in a friendly team environment, plus a range of benefits including generous annual leave, a defined benefit pension scheme (Teacher’s Pension Scheme for Lecturing roles and Local Government Pension Scheme for Support roles), employee assistance programme and full access to Capel Manor Gardens.

Capel Manor College is committed to creating and promoting an equal, diverse and inclusive workforce that enables those working at the College to achieve their full potential. We are committed to achieving a truly representative workforce and therefore welcome applications from all sections of the community.
