A New Opportunity in Our Brand New Specialist Resource Base

The Governors and Headteacher of Peter Lea Primary School are excited to offer an excellent opportunity to join our brand new Specialist Resource Base (SRB) as a Teaching Assistant (Grade 4). This newly established provision will support children with complex needs, including social communication difficulties, by offering a nurturing, child centred learning environment.

Peter Lea Primary is a warm, inclusive and community focused school where every child is nurtured, valued, and supported to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

- Support high quality teaching and learning tailored to pupils’ individual needs.

- Work 1:1 and with small groups to deliver engaging, structured learning activities.

- Support children’s access to play based, sensory and experiential learning opportunities indoors and outdoors.

- Create and maintain a safe, calm and nurturing environment.

- Help develop pupils’ communication, emotional and social skills.

- Collaborate closely with the Class Teacher, Lead Teacher, wider school staff and external specialists.

- Promote inclusion by helping pupils participate in appropriate wider school routines and activities.

What We’re Looking For

- Experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs in a mainstream or specialist setting. .

- Commitment to sensory based and play led approaches.

- Strong communication skills and empathy.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

- Understanding of early childhood development (desirable).
