Woodlands School are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative teacher with a passion for working with pupils with additional leaning needs. The post would suit a teacher from all phases with experience and more importantly an interest in ALN teaching. Successful candidates will benefit from relevant training and a personalised professional learning offer.

Woodlands is looking for a class teacher who values the success of their colleagues as much as their own and whilst setting high standards for behaviour, ensures that every pupil is treated with respect and feels included. Riverbank School, Ty Gwyn School and Woodlands School are part of the Western Learning Federation and as it is the only special school federation in Wales. We are a truly unique organisation where our schools support pupils aged 3-19 with Autism and/or profound and complex needs.

The Western Learning Federation promotes all schools as ‘Schools as Learning Organisations’. The foundations are built on a shared vision of ‘learning together to grow and achieve’. Under the Teacher and Higher Education Act 1998 and the Teachers (Compulsory Registration) Wales Regulations 2000, every qualified teacher, who is employed in a maintained school must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

Internal candidates who wish to apply for this position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081). Requests may only be approved by the relevant Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.
