Learning Support Worker – ASC
B3 – £22,369 – £24,054 (pro rata, £20,111 – £21,626)
Permanent position – Starting as soon as possible
Term Time Only (37 hours per week) plus 15 days
Carr Manor Community School (CMCS) is an ‘all-through’ school at an exciting phase of expansion and development across both our primary and secondary phases. We are proud of our caring and inclusive reputation and have a strong team of professionals committed to developing and delivering a broad curriculum to children aged 4-19.
We are one of the founding partners of the Leeds Learning Alliance and we are looking forward to further developing our partnerships over the forthcoming months and years.
We are now looking to appoint a Learning Support Worker in our Resourced Provision (Mosaic), for children with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
The candidate will have the tenacity, skills and flexibility to work in a fast-moving environment and the passion to help our children in both our Primary and Secondary phases to progress and develop.
We are looking for experienced colleagues with proven specialist skills and knowledge supporting children with SEND including Autism Spectrum Needs, embedded in a clear understanding of what makes successful learning and learners with a range of needs.
Preferably you will have significant experience in both mainstream and SEND posts through which you have acquired a strong grasp of the impact of ASC needs on learning, and a comprehensive range of strategies for supporting children with these needs in a mainstream context.
You will have very effective communication skills. You will have a firm grasp of the current SEND context, including legal frameworks and best practice guidance in your specialist area, which you will demonstrate in your role.
It is essential that the post-holder shares our school’s ethos, which is firmly rooted in a restorative approach and the following values: to ‘Know our Children Well’: to be ‘Partners in Learning’: to develop ‘Character for Learning’; to ‘Enjoy and Achieve’. We firmly believe that in order to move forwards, we need to be prepared and able to ‘do things differently and do different things’. We work restoratively with pupils, families and with each other, to maintain the ‘strong community culture’ that Ofsted recognised when they visited us in June 2018.
