“Growing Great Leaders”

Faculty Leader for English (L4-L8) plus the opportunity for candidates with strong skills and experience to be appointed to an enhanced Strategic Leader role (L7-12). For a candidate successful in securing this as a Strategic Leader position, the role would include having an additional whole school responsibility alongside leading English.

The successful candidate will be one of eight faculty leaders at Caludon who contribute to the leadership of the school’s quality of education through our faculty centred leadership model.

As a leadership specialist school, we are alternatively able to offer a role as a Strategic Leader of English contributing to our extended leadership team. Our skilful team of teachers has built an ambitious and impactful curriculum noted by Ofsted for a deliberate choices of texts, very detailed plans and careful decisions about sequencing so that knowledge can be built over time in the lead up to AQA GCSE English Language and Literature. Our English teachers have embedded robust routines, using oracy and digital technology to enable students to achieve their potential. A level English is very popular and currently we offer AQA A levels in English Literature, English Language and English Language and Literature.

‘Pupils live up to the school’s high expectations.’ Ofsted February 2024

Our English team also enjoy promoting English beyond the curriculum too through World Book Day, theatre trips, visits to university lectures and through extra-curricular clubs.
