I would like to thank you for your interest in this very exciting role within the wellbeing team as Head of Year at Cefn Saeson. Cefn Saeson School is a very successful learning community serving Cimla, Tonna and central Neath.This is a very exciting opportunity for an individual who would relish the chance to join us.
This is a non-teaching post which will give the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to work closely with young people supporting them in their school life. We are looking for someone to join our well established, hard-working and dedicated wellbeing team to work under the direction of our Director of care, support and guidance
The role of the Head of Year is an integral pastoral role and it includes supporting students with positive behaviours, safeguarding, improving attendance and encouraging participation in Year group events.
As part of this role, you will;
• Ensure students are supported in their academic and personal development throughout their time at the school.
• Lead a team of tutors in the delivery of the school’s pastoral provision and academic monitoring programme, ensuring high quality learning experiences within the tutorial programme and high quality support to students.
• Support the oversight of Student Voice and Student Leadership within your year group.
We are seeking someone who:
has experience of working with secondary age students in an inclusion / behaviour / pastoral capacity
is passionate and committed to the wellbeing of all students
has excellent communication skills – in person, on the telephone and in writing.
