Hillside is a Secure Children’s Home that provides care for up to 14 children aged 10 to 18. The home support children and young people who are placed through the Youth Protection Service and those on welfare orders. These placements are made to ensure that the children and young people receive the care, protection and support they need in a safe and nurturing environment.
We currently have 12 young people at the centre
Cefn Saeson Comprehensive School leads the education provision within the centre. Education at Hillside has recently been through an Estyn inspection and has been commended for its strategic progress over the past 2 academic years.
Hillside Education Vision and Ethos
Wellbeing is at the core of our school values. Children and young people resident at Hillside present with complex histories and often display challenging behaviour and many have experiences significant trauma. The shared vision of Care and Education is to help each young person feel safe, respected and supported throughout their time spent at the centre. A trauma informed model places the learner at the centre. Our environment helps children and young people:
