The Governing Body wishes to appoint an excellent and highly committed Head of ICT to lead a successful department in light of reform. This post will provide an excellent opportunity for practitioners to develop their leadership experience in a dynamic environment, committed to the professional development of all staff. This post comes with additional responsibility to develop whole school DCF.

The enthusiastic candidate will have excellent communication skills and be committed to working within a dedicated team that offers the highest possible standards of teaching and learning.

The ability to build relationships with both pupils and staff is essential.

The successful candidate duties will include:

• Possess a strong desire to develop an outstanding learning area by creating a culture where learning is greatly valued by all

• To be a lead contributor to the development of the new curriculum within ICT

• Have the ability and determination to drive DCF across all areas of the curriculum

• To lead the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies, assessment and teaching and learning strategies in the department.

• To raise standards of learners attainment and achievement

• To be accountable for learners progress and development within the subject area.

• To develop and enhance the teaching practice of others.

• To ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for learners studying in the department, in accordance with the aims of the school and the curricular policies determined by the Governing Body and Headteacher of the school.

• To be accountable for leading, managing and developing the ICT department.

• To effectively manage and deploy teaching/support staff, financial and physical resources within the department to support the designated curriculum portfolio.

Cefn Saeson Comprehensive is based in Cimla, Neath. We have recently moved into a 21st century new school building, which has extensive grounds. Pupils are aged between 11-16.
