We are looking to appoint a Teacher of English to join our large, highly successful, creative and dynamic English department. The English curriculum has been designed by our team of specialists to engage, challenge and inspire our young people. Our students study a wide range of texts, developing their knowledge and understanding of key aspects of English as well as their cultural capital and knowledge to explore big concepts. We believe that every writer is a storyteller; creative writing is an important part of our curriculum, allowing students to take inspiration from other writers and to develop their imaginations alongside writing skills. The English department also offers extracurricular activities as part of our Penrice Plus, such as poetry club, debating and sign language. This role will be split as 0.5FTE Teacher of English and 0.5FTE Cover Teacher. Therefore, the successful candidate will also need to be adaptable to teach lessons as directed and planned by class teachers in all subject areas.

We have the highest expectations of our students’ behaviour, engagement and academic outcomes. Our students come to school ready and excited to learn. Can you motivate and inspire their success?
We offer unparalleled career development opportunities for all. Whether you are a newly qualified or experienced teacher, Penrice is the school that will fast track your development. We offer an extensive and highly supportive programme for our recently qualified teachers.
