Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00am-3:30pm (08:00am - 5pm on Wednesdays) term-time only (including INSET days).

Salary: BG8 £28,163 - £30,060 (Actual £24,296.23 - £25,932.77)

Charlton Wood Primary Academy are looking growing and developing our offer to pupils who have a need linked to, ASC and Communication and Interaction. As part of this offer, we are looking to appoint a L3 Teaching Partner to work under the direction of the SENDCO to lead a bridging provision for pupils who require additional support and are working on an alternative curriculum to their peers. This will involve leading an aspect of provision in a breakout room in a continuous provision model where you may be asked to leading specific interventions and work with individuals linked to their target place. This may involve Lego therapy, speech and language work, Attention Autism etc.

What will the role involve?

  • Working 1:1/ with small groups with a range of pupils as part of the SEND support in school using EHCP and SEND targets to ensure provision is correct alongside class teachers
  • Planning, delivering and assessing small group interventions in school using a range of resources
  • Liaising with other members of staff including teachers to ensure work from interventions is embedded within high quality provision for identified pupils
  • Meeting with parents, where appropriate, to discuss the intervention their child is in and what they can do at home to support the need of their child

The role will also involve covering PPA sessions for teachers on a weekly basis in a given year group so you will need to be willing and confident in your ability to develop this skill set to do this.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has experience working as an LSA/ Teaching Partner
  • has a proven track record of leading groups/ classes and delivering focussed interventions
  • has a proven track record of achieving high quality outcomes for pupils through adapting their approach to meet the needs of the pupil
  • can use a wide range of teaching strategies to inspire children so that they are highly engaged in their learning
  • has excellent behaviour management skills
  • is adaptable, proactive and reflective in their approach to working with pupils
