An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and talented individual to join our experienced and friendly team as a Lead Practitioner within the Mathematics department at The Chase. Our Lead Practitioner will be a key player in shaping the future of education within the department and across the wider school. We are seeking a team player with excellent communication skills who is a passionate about being in the classroom and inspiring both students and colleagues.

Within the department we believe in developing students mastery of mathematics. The ideal candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and a desire to improve teaching pedagogy across the faculty and have a keen interest in working with the faculty leader to continue to develop the mathematics curriculum. Experience teaching either A-Level Maths or Core Maths to post 16 is desirable but not essential.

The main responsibilities of the role:

• To work closely with the faculty leader in developing departmental pedagogy. This will include delivering collaborative planning sessions and continuing to develop the curriculum.

• To support TLR holders in ensuring full coverage and pedagogy informed by best practice, teaching for mastery and quality first, inclusive teaching.

• To be a mentor for ECTs within the department.

• To continue to foster the culture of positivity within the department and inspire and support colleagues as needed.

• To maintain a positive and forward-looking team-based approach to ensuring the best possible provision for all students.
