Actual salary - £26,845 - £29,629

We are seeking to appoint a committed, caring, flexible and resilient professional to complement the work of our exceptional team. You will be an inspirational person who is uncompromising in the pursuit of providing children with outstanding care and education.

This is a maternity cover for 1 year and will be within our team at The Leicester Royal Infirmary where children are taught at the bedside or in our classroom. Experience of working with children with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) is an advantage or we would welcome those eager to develop the necessary skills through training and coaching.

Applicants should have recent experience working in an education setting, have experience of working with Special Educational Needs pupils, and a belief in a truly personalised provision for each child. You will plan and deliver 1-1 lessons alongside playing a key role in the care and well-being of students including liaison with a range of other professionals.

You would be joining the school at a very exciting time and will be able to make a significant contribution to the future direction and development of this unique learning environment. You will have access to superb continuing professional development alongside on-going career opportunities and support. We have established first class partnerships locally, nationally and internationally as we continually seek to develop both ourselves and others. We are ambitious and are seeking colleagues who are wanting to be part of our journey as an outstanding, innovative, outward looking school.

The successful candidate will:

• have experience of supporting SEND / Secondary children

• have experience of working with children with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound or multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) or be willing to develop in this area

• have a natural passion and enthusiasm for the education and support of all children

• be an outstanding HLTA with the energy to inspire, motivate and challenge students and staff alike

• be creative and dynamic

• have the skills to form excellent working relationships with students, staff, parents, governors and medical professionals

• have an appetite for change, innovation and the development of new ways to engage young people being educated in a hospital school setting

• make a significant contribution to the wider life of the school

The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 23rd February with interviews likely to take place the following week.
