The Children’s Hospital School supports the educational needs of young people who are unable to attend their own school due to ill health. We teach children who are inpatients in the two Leicester hospitals (Leicester Royal Infirmary and The Beacon CAMHS unit at Glenfield). In addition, we have three alternative provision schools – two in Leicester and one in Hinckley.
We are seeking a committed, caring, flexible and resilient professional to complement the work of a truly exceptional team. You will be an inspirational teacher who is uncompromising in the pursuit of improving standards in the education and support of children with medical and additional needs.
This post arises from the continued growth of the school which is now spread across five provisions. We are looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner who is able to teach Maths to students in Years 7-11, up to GCSE higher level. This position will be based at The Phoenix Learning Centre in Hinckley, with some lessons being delivered online, in the home or in the community.
Teachers at our school need to be flexible and adapt plans to meet the changing needs of the young people referred to us. In addition to your main specialism, you may be expected to contribute to other areas of the curriculum.
