Teacher of Food Technology & Textiles

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated and forward-thinking Food Technology and Textiles teacher.  The ability to teach Hospitality and Catering at Key Stage 4 will be an expectation for this post.  An interest in teaching students in our SEN Unit (for individuals with autism) is desirable.  The successful candidate will join an excellent team of dedicated and diligent staff where outcomes for students are strong and there is strong leadership.  Applicants should be committed to school improvement and developing strategies which challenge, interest and support all of our students.  You will have the drive and determination to move us closer to our ultimate goal of becoming an 'outstanding' school.

You will work within a vibrant team who believe in their own development.  As a result of this, staff actively engage in and take responsibility for continuing their own professional learning and regularly lead or are involved in research projects and staff professional learning.  This focus on development of staff has led to many taking on additional responsibilities within Chipping Sodbury School or moving on to promotions at other institutions; this is something we really value.  As a school, we believe passionately in learning for all and are committed to not only developing our students, but all who work within our community and therefore you will be supported with your professional development.

Why work for us?

  • Internal career opportunities
  • Personalised professional development and training
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Flexible working opportunities and a genuine commitment to family and work/life balance; part-time hours may be considered
  • Nationally negotiated cost of living pay
  • Automatic enrolment to the teacher or local government pension scheme
  • Recognition of local government continuous service
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Discounts at local leisure centres

Closing date for applications: Tuesday 7th May 2024 at midday.
