A Message from our Headteacher

Mrs Jo Lindley

Thank you for expressing an interest in our wonderful school. I am currently in my second year as Headteacher and so much has changed as shown in our most recent Ofsted inspection for which we received a Good rating across all four categories: Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development and Leadership and Management.

The changes have been transformational and they have been undertaken at a manageable and sustainable pace for the staff and students. In truth, the ingredients have always been here; staff wanting to improve and accelerate the life chances of our students, students eager to work hard and think hard both within and beyond the classroom and an incredibly supportive parent/carer body.

As a leadership team, we have created simple strategies to achieve the best outcomes in all areas of the school and the impact is tangible. We have happy students, fulfilled staff and a supportive community. As you step through the doors you are immediately greeted by the warm, ambitious and vibrant environment fostered here.

Kingshill is more than a school. We truly embrace the crucial role we play in young people’s lives. Academic success has great value in our society and we are committed to delivering exceptional teaching and learning. Alongside this, we create opportunities for the development of each young person’s character, equipping them with the qualities needed to successfully navigate their futures.

Strongly believing in the wider school experience, we endeavour to raise aspirations through a range of leadership opportunities in all year groups, creating extended opportunities to broaden knowledge and skills beyond the life in the classroom. We support each and every student in unlocking their true potential.

Through academic challenge, depth of experience and opportunities with the development of personal character, we are shaping greater futures for Kingshill students. If this is a school that sparks your interest, we want to hear from you. If you want to see for yourselves please do watch Cirencester Kingshill School Video or contact us to arrange a tour.

Continuing Professional Learning and Development

Supporting our team to continue to improve in their role is a critical belief at Kingshill. Nobody is ever the finished article and we are all given time to reflect on areas for development and find ways to be even more effective. Staff are encouraged to have an Inquiring Mind and this is the name of our CPLD programme. All members of our staff team produce their own 60 Day Plans which address an area for improvement and identify the training support we may need to achieve this change.

Teaching staff undertake a CPLD programme focused on our school developmental priorities and delivered through INSET, twilight sessions and whole school teaching team, faculty and year team meetings. It is underpinned by educational research which is proven to work in successful schools.

On top of this, ECTs will be assigned an experienced mentor, normally from their subject or faculty, to support them through the two year programme. We use Balcarras Training School as our Approved Body and through them you will have access to the University College London training materials.

Professional support staff receive CPLD through internal training delivered by other staff members, or external providers such as the National College. We support staff to achieve qualifications that will enhance their ability to do their role effectively.
