Job Title: Teaching Assistant Level 2

Actual Annual Salary: £5,677 - £6,120 Based on hours and week worked

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £28,859 - £31,111 (CLF Grade C) Based on Full Time hours, all year round.

Contract Type: Fixed term until 31 August 2026.

Hours: 8.5 hours per week - Part Time, Term Time Only plus Inset days 

Working Pattern: Monday: 5.25, Tuesday: 3.25 - working days can be discussed at interview.

An opportunity to empower students to reach their full potential by delivering tailored, specialist support that enhances learning, engagement, and well-being.

Support students with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) by adopting developed strategies and techniques to enable them to access the curriculum, engage with their learning and achieve their full potential. Take responsibility for implementing planned learning activities and interventions as agreed with the teacher, adjusting approaches according to students’ responses and needs. Deliver measurable impact on student attainment, social and emotional well-being, and independence. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to fulfil the requirements of the role and contribute to the wider success of the school.

You will:

  • Have experience of, or be willing to embrace, working in a single-form entry school.
  • Understand classroom roles and responsibilities, and how a Teaching Assistant Level 2 supports students with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) in their learning.
  • Hold or be working towards a relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent), and be committed to undertaking further training including first aid, safeguarding, and SEND-specific development.
  • Have GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Be confident in engaging students and managing behaviour on a one-to-one or small group basis, using specialist techniques and strategies.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, active listening, and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Be skilled in planning and organising learning activities and support materials tailored to individual needs.
  • Be confident in working independently under the direction of the class teacher, delivering specific learning activities and interventions.
  • Be someone with a keen interest in working with children and a commitment to inclusion and acceptance of all.
  • Be emotionally intelligent, calm under pressure, and able to make sound decisions in challenging situations.
  • Be flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to changing needs and environments.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
