At City of Bristol College, we deliver transformative education in inclusive and dynamic learning environments and for our employees, this is no different.

One of our key strategic aims is our unrelenting focus on our people-first culture, ensuring you feel valued, empowered, and recognised for your individual contributions and expertise whether that be in a teaching capacity or a professional services team. All colleagues within the College contribute to the success of our students and we actively work to eliminate any barriers at work, ensuring you have the opportunity to thrive.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer to join our Maths team.

About your role:

We are looking for a motivated Lecturer in Maths to become part of our committed team. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping and guiding the next generation of professionals, fostering both academic excellence and professional development.

You will be teaching 16-19-year-old students on the GCSE Maths programme. There may also be a requirement to teach adult groups.

You will be providing the underpinning support and guidance that will help students fulfil their potential to improve their skills, knowledge and, ultimately, succeed in their Maths studies.

You will promote the importance of numeracy skills to teachers of vocational subjects, encouraging them to embed maths delivery within the context of students’ vocational sessions.

What we offer:

Our people-first ethos provides a highly supportive, flexible approach to enable you to excel within your role and to reach your full potential. In return, you can expect the following:

Two-week paid Christmas close down and additional paid time off over Easter on top of a generous holiday entitlement of 35 holiday days, plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time roles).

Membership to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme with employer contributions of 28.68%

Paid Volunteering leave (3 days a year)

Family friendly policies including paid fertility and foster friendly policy

A menopause policy outlining support available

A person-centred annual appraisal focusing on your wellbeing and CPD

Access to a benefits portal including shopping discounts and cycle to work scheme plus lots more!

The 'Right to Disconnect' from work outside of your normal working hours

A supportive, highly utilised hybrid and flexible working policy

An Aspiring Leaders programme open to all, and our Management Academy for all management roles covering management skill and internal processes

Welfare Rooms at all our sites for professional breakout and relaxation spaces

A bespoke programme of recognition, reward and celebration for colleagues throughout the year to recognise your hard work.

We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community - a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed.  We aspire to have a diverse and inclusive workplace and strongly encourage applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to apply to join us. As a disability confident employer, we take a trauma informed approach to our work, support the Care Leavers covenant, and have been awarded accreditation as a College of Sanctuary for refugees.

A few points to note:

If you have a medical condition or an individual need for an adjustment to our processes, and you believe this may affect your ability to be at your best – please let us know so we can talk about how we can best support you and make any adjustments that may be needed.

Don’t meet every single requirement?

We are committed to creating an inclusive and flexible working environment, that promotes diversity.
