SENDCo, Snowdon Village

Contract: Full Time and Permanent (Part-time considered for the right candidate 0.8)

Start: 1st September 2024

Snowdon Village is a muti-site alternative provision in Bristol. We support children from the ages of 4 - 16 who are finding it difficult to cope in mainstream education. We are proud to be the first Trauma Informed School in Bristol.

Our core values are:

Positivity

Equity

Resilience

Love

We value learning outside the classroom, and we are looking for innovative and inspiring staff to join our team.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a SENCO to join our supportive and talented team at Snowdon Village. To be successful in the post, we are looking for a professional who can take on the role of SENCO to provide oversight and tracking of all SEND students including SEMH across the Academy to monitor impact and to direct the quality of provision, ensuring that students are supported as individuals. You will work closely with wider SEND team, the Inclusion team, and the Senior Leadership Team, to ensure that all vulnerable students are supported to achieve, receive the appropriate statutory provision and are supported to be successful. At Snowdon Village the SEND and Safeguarding team work very closely with each other. We view the contextual safeguarding needs of the children as equally important as the learning needs and the two things often go hand in hand. Due to this the SENDCo will also act as the DDSL for Snowdon Village (training will be given for this if the SENDCo doesn’t have previous experience of this) supporting a large and well-established safeguarding team across Snowdon Village.

This role will be based across Primary and Secondary (KS1-4) with a small teaching allocation. The post will also include SEN administration for all pupils and the successful candidate will represent Snowdon Village at key local authority panels.

As part of the Cabot Learning Federation, there are significant opportunities to connect and collaborate with our partner Academies as well as outstanding leadership development opportunities.
