Clifton Hill is a special school for students ages 11-19 with severe learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorders and profound and multiple learning difficulties. We are looking for an energetic, dedicated and creative teacher to help our young people reach their full potential.

Our students join us as children at the age of 11. When they leave us they are young adults and need to be ready to be happy, healthy and confident adults with purpose and drive. This is why we not only place emphasis on academic excellence but also on a values based curriculum in order to promote emotional well-being, independence, high expectations and positive attitudes for all our students, that will last into their next destination and throughout their lives.

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious class teacher. Experience with teaching children and young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential. Having ambition, energy and a positive attitude towards improving outcomes for children and young people with additional needs is much more important.

NQT’s with a strong interest in SEND are welcome to apply – we have an excellent track record of supporting our NQT’s during their early career years and beyond.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified and creative teacher
  • A dynamic team leader
  • An excellent communicator
  • Focused on improving long term outcomes for our young people

We can offer:

  • Happy students who love coming to school
  • Supportive and ambitious colleagues
  • Well-resourced and engaging working environment
  • Broad training opportunities & excellent career progression opportunities
  • Links with other local special needs providers
  • Excellent wellbeing, lifestyle and discount package
  • Attractive semi-rural location yet within the M25

Salary:

TPS Main scale (London Fringe) plus SEN allowance. Upper Pay Scale may be available for a candidate with exceptional experience and leadership potential, who can demonstrate whole-school impact.

Applications MUST be made on our application form only (no CV’s please), to be received before the closing date of Friday 26th April at Noon. Interviews will be held on Wednesday 1st May 2024.

Please download the application form and return via email.
