The Computing Department

The Computing department at Commonweal is successful and very popular, delivering both GCSE Computer Science and Level 1/2 Creative iMedia at KS4 and A Level Computer Science at KS5. We are successful because we are passionate about our subject and engage students with dedicated Computing lessons at Key Stage 3, enriched with clubs and external activities. This is achieved with a comprehensively planned and resourced curriculum which aims to give students skills in Computer Science and Digital Literacy which prepares them for further study and for life. It is further supported through building positive relationships with students and building emphasis on students taking responsibility for the level of their own success. The Computing department is part of the Creative Technology faculty both of which are reflective and supportive teams. We look forward to welcoming a new member of staff who can be the dynamic leader of a department we’re proud of.
