About Us

At Compass Point, we work hard to ensure all children achieve their full potential in the academic, artistic, social, spiritual and emotional aspects of learning. We offer all learners an engaging, exciting and immersive range of experiences that are designed to capture, inspire and ignite learning. As a school, we have created and implemented an enquiry based curriculum with a focus on skills progression and creativity.

In 2015 an extension on the front of the school was added to incorporate a modern and open plan Nursery space as well as two additional classrooms. The extra room has meant that we can have dedicated music, art and cookery spaces for the children to use.  We are also fortunate to have our own on-site forest school and large school field for outdoor learning and PE.

In September 2022, we opened our first Resource base class for children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and the following year, following a refurbishment of part of our building, we expanded to include another two classes taking the total number of children to 24.  The resource base is set to expand again in Sept 2024.  Our vision for all our children is to provide high quality teaching and learning experiences and an education that fosters ambition and prepares children for the future.

In November 2023 Ofsted awarded us a 'Good'rating.

Excalibur Academies Trust

Founded in 2012, Excalibur Academies Trust has grown from two schools in Marlborough, Wiltshire, to 20 schools reaching from Bristol to Reading along the M4 corridor, providing high quality education to 10,000 children from age 2 to age 18. Our vision is to provide an all-through education in local hubs, with a focus on the best teaching, a broad and exciting curriculum and an outward-facing global perspective. We believe in investing in our staff to ensure we attract and retain talented, dedicated people who are committed to changing children’s lives for the better. With a strong track record of raising the achievement of disadvantaged pupils across the trust, it is our mission to promote social mobility and personal fulfilment through the transformative power of education. Our growth strategy is based on our hub model and building the capacity to provide strong support and opportunities to other schools who share our vision.
