Health & Safety Advisor (Ref 009/2122)

Salary: £28,539 to £31,194 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Coventry College is a large further education college based in Coventry with c7,500 staff and students based on one campus with 2 buildings in close proximity to the city centre. The provision is located in buildings which have recently been refurbished. Further capital developments are expected over the coming years to continue to improve the site.

The person appointed will be the principal health and safety specialist within the organisation. The role is based within the Estates and Facilities team and, in addition to extensive liaison with others in that area, the Advisor will be required to provide advice to the Senior Management Team on legislative changes.

Also critical to the role will be your ability to support Curriculum Managers and teaching staff to ensure a thorough understanding that the College’s Health and Safety Policy, procedures and practices in order to maintain and ensure a safe working environment for all staff and students.

As a Health and Safety Advisor you will hold:

• A relevant level of health and safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH).

• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation, practices and procedures

• Previous experience in a health and safety role, ideally with an educational or service setting

You will have previous experience in a health and safety role, with comprehensive up to date knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, practices and procedures.
